Winged Victory
There’s a unique beauty in the fractured, the incomplete, and the imperfect. Much like the Winged Victory of Samothrace, discovered broken but still radiating power and grace. Standing before that sculpture years ago in Paris, I was struck by its timelessness—the sense of triumph frozen in time despite its imperfections.
Inspired by that feeling, I set out to bring Winged Victory to life again—this time on the frozen Baltic Sea. The cracked, refrozen ice, with its echoes of marble, became the perfect canvas for this figure, wings outstretched, still powerful despite the passage of time.
The process wasn’t easy—weather challenges and the fragility of the ice made this piece a test of patience and persistence. But as I stood there, with the solitary figure on the ice, it all came together. Winged Victory is a reminder that victory isn’t always about flawlessness. Sometimes, it’s about standing tall in the face of adversity, enduring through the cracks, and embracing the brokenness that gives something its soul.
This print captures that powerful moment—the stillness of the ice, the resilience of the figure, and the beauty found in imperfection.

Each Open Edition print is made-to-order. That means we are unable to accept returns. We are also unable to make any changes or cancellations to orders after 24 hours.
If for any reason your new artwork arrives in anything other than perfect condition please let my team know and we will do our best repair or replace the piece!
