Rebirth began with a question: to become something new, what would I have to let go of? High in the Norwegian mountains, I found pale sandbanks surrounded by glacial water so blue it hardly seemed real. With just chalk, charcoal and water, I created two works within that landscape. Born Again follows a curled figure as the rising lake slowly envelops her, while A New Creation opens its wings where the earth seems to fall into the sky. The shapes of the land and the movement of the water became part of the work in ways I could never have planned. Together, these pieces grew from my own longing to surrender, to rest in God, and to be made new.

Rebirth is available for a short window: November 10-17 (7 days only).

When the window closes, the drop closes.
Most sizes in this release are timed editions. That means the edition is open only during the 7-day window. The final edition size is determined by how many are collected before the window closes.
Once Rebirth closes on November 17, the edition is finalized and the works will not be available again.
Prints — the pure image on museum-grade 100% cotton fine art paper. Each print is hand-signed and numbered including A4.
Collector Editions — the image becomes a sculptural object: elevated above a handcrafted wooden surface inspired by weathered driftwood, shaped and finished by hand in Finland, with natural variations ensuring no two pieces are alike.
Halo Editions — luminous, sculptural works that bring together image, light, and material. Handcrafted with layered, frosted acrylic, subtle depth, and delicate refractions—designed to evoke the stillness and beauty of a landscape held beneath water.
Every artwork is hand-signed, numbered, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Collector and Halo Editions are individually handcrafted with unique variations and include an A4 companion print.
Rebirth is crafted, finished, and packed in Finland by David and a small team.
From print quality and paper choice to signing, fingerprinting, and finishing—the entire process is handled in-studio. These are not mass-produced or drop-shipped products.
Production begins November 18, 2026, after the Rebirth release closes on November 17. This is when we can confirm final edition quantities and number the artworks. Our team will be ready, and all production estimates run from November 18—not the date you place your order.
We fulfill orders in the order they are received, within each edition and size. Ordering earlier gives your piece an earlier place in the production queue.
We aim to dispatch paper prints within 1–4 weeks from November 18. We plan to begin dispatching the first Collector and Halo Editions during the first week of production, with further pieces following as they are completed. Final order volume will determine how long the full edition takes to produce; if demand extends our estimates, we will keep you informed.
We will do our very best to dispatch paper prints, Collector Editions, and Halo Editions before Christmas, but we cannot guarantee Christmas delivery. Shipping and transit times are additional. If you need your artwork before Christmas, please email popa@davidpopaart.com so we can discuss your deadline.
United States & Canada — paper prints: All paper prints are sent in bulk from Finland to our shipping partners in the United States and Canada, then delivered locally using USPS or Canada Post labels. This consolidates international handling and makes local delivery more efficient.
Collector & Halo Editions: These are securely packed in wooden crates and shipped separately, directly to each client.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
David Popa is a contemporary artist known for creating monumental, ephemeral frescoes directly onto the Earth. Working primarily with natural pigments like chalk, charcoal, and minerals, Popa crafts hauntingly powerful portraits across glaciers, lava fields, islands, and shorelines—works that are ultimately reclaimed by nature.
Born to a family of artists in New York City and now based in Finland, Popa’s creative journey blends classical training with raw intuition. His work lives at the intersection of art, nature, and the sacred. Each piece is not only a visual creation but a personal pilgrimage: a meditation on time, decay, identity, and the unseen.
In recent years, Popa’s large-scale land works have gained international recognition, featured by BBC, CNN, Colossal, and more. He has collaborated with large brands such as Apple and Adidas along with working on some of the largest public art projects in the world. He documents his process through cinematic short films that give viewers access to both the physical creation and the spiritual intention behind the work.
David invites his audience to slow down, look closer, and contemplate the transient beauty of being alive.

I LOVE this Masters Edition of New Beginning. It feels like I have both an amazing art piece and a piece of Abraham Lake ice on my wall. I was so amazed when I first saw the videos of what David Popa had created on the winter ice at Abraham Lake. I feel very fortunate to own a piece from his "Renewal" Project.
The art in and of itself is beautiful and the collectors edition presentation is breathtaking. We are so happy with our purchase and can't wait to get it up on the wall (we're getting some professional help with this part because the piece is impressive in its size and weight).
I cannot stop admiring how insanely intricate and detailed the print was and the effort that went into this masterpiece was truly worth the wait. I have an old anniversary photo of me and my husband on our 5th year together, that was echoed in the positioning of these two figures in this artwork. At that time in our lives, there was no cracked space between us, no challenges, no struggle.
This year, my husband and I have witnessed and overcome many of the challenges that popped up in our lives around, within and between us...we will be celebrating 30 years together, and having a visual representation of the "gold" that now binds us together in this masterpiece edition of "Between Us", it has become an anchor to remind us that we always are intending to move together, no matter what challenges we face. And the space between us is precious, as long as we both put in that work for repair and value as a team.
