RENEWAL is an ephemeral trilogy created on the ice of Alberta, Canada. Using chalk, charcoal, and earth pigments, I painted directly onto the ice, letting wind, temperature, and water shape the final form. One figure emerges into new beginnings, one releases the past, and one holds love in the cracks. Each work was made within a narrow weather window—vulnerable to thaw and moving water—then transformed or erased as the lake changed overnight. Renewal is never clean, and beauty can be found in brokenness.

Renewal is available for a short window: March 16–23 (7 days only).

Email subscribers get Early Access on March 15 at 18:00 Helsinki / 12:00 New York / 11:00 Calgary.

When the window closes, the drop closes.

Most sizes in this release are timed editions. That means the edition is open only during the 7-day window. The final edition size is determined by how many are collected before the window closes.

Once Renewal closes on March 23, the edition is finalized and the works will not be available again.

Prints — the pure image on museum-grade 100% cotton fine art paper. Each print is hand-signed and numbered (A4 is the only open edition).

Collector Editions — the image becomes an artifact object: mounted into a hand-crafted fractured surface inspired by the ice, finished by hand so that no two are the same.

Master Editions — sculptural statement pieces: the most time-intensive work we make, built with depth, refraction, and hand-finished detail—designed to feel like an artifact uncovered from the ice.

Every collectible includes a Certificate of Authenticity.

All prints are hand-signed and numbered.

A3 and above include an NFC authentication chip: tap your phone to view the digital certificate and the full story behind the work.

Collector and Master Editions are hand-finished objects—each one is unique by nature of the process.

Renewal is crafted, finished, and packed in Finland by David and a small team.

From print quality and paper choice to signing, fingerprinting, and finishing—the entire process is handled in-studio. These are not mass-produced or drop-shipped products.

Prints ship first. Collector and Master Editions are hand-crafted and take longer to produce.

You'll receive tracking as soon as your order ships.

I WANT TO KNOW

ABOUT THE ARTIST

David Popa is a contemporary artist known for creating monumental, ephemeral frescoes directly onto the Earth. Working primarily with natural pigments like chalk, charcoal, and minerals, Popa crafts hauntingly powerful portraits across glaciers, lava fields, islands, and shorelines—works that are ultimately reclaimed by nature.

Born to a family of artists in New York City and now based in Finland, Popa’s creative journey blends classical training with raw intuition. His work lives at the intersection of art, nature, and the sacred. Each piece is not only a visual creation but a personal pilgrimage: a meditation on time, decay, identity, and the unseen.

In recent years, Popa’s large-scale land works have gained international recognition, featured by BBC, CNN, Colossal, and more. He has collaborated with large brands such as Apple and Adidas along with working on some of the largest public art projects in the world. He documents his process through cinematic short films that give viewers access to both the physical creation and the spiritual intention behind the work.

David invites his audience to slow down, look closer, and contemplate the transient beauty of being alive.

COLLECTORS ARE RAVING ★★★★★

The last release in November 2025 exceeded expectations and prints sold out. The feedback was overwhelming. Every print is now studio-made, hand-signed, fingerprinted, and crafted on archival cotton paper directly from the hands of the artist, David Popa.
