Born Again - Halo Edition

The Halo Edition of New Creation carries the original work into a luminous, sculptural form. Inspired by surrender, transformation, and the quiet beauty of letting go, it brings together image, light, and material in a piece that gently changes as you move around it.

A Landscape Beneath the Water

Created with charcoal and water on a pale sandbank beside a glacial lake in the Norwegian mountains, the original work depicts a female figure gradually disappearing beneath the surface.

Connected to an active dam, the lake slowly rose, reshaping the shoreline and transforming the artwork in ways beyond the artist's control. Day by day, the figure became submerged, yet remained visible beneath the clear blue water.

This edition extends that landscape beyond the boundaries of the central print. Images held at different depths unfold through layers of thick, frosted acrylic, creating a sense of space around the work and echoing the stillness and depth of the lake.

Shaped by Light

Developed through months of experimenting with materials, the satin surfaces have the softness of sea glass and a delicate glacial-green tint. Light catches their edges and passes through the layers, revealing subtle shifts in colour, shadow, and clarity.

In changing daylight, details come forward or soften into the surrounding landscape, recalling the way the submerged figure remained quietly visible beneath the moving water.

A Physical Connection to the Place

Sand from the original location is incorporated by hand, connecting this ethereal quality to the physical place where the work began. Something of that Norwegian shore remains within the finished object.

For David, watching the figure lie still beneath the water while the wind moved across its surface felt like witnessing a baptism. Although he had created the image, its transformation was no longer in his hands. In that moment, he recognised a deep longing for the same surrender and peace.

The Halo Edition gives this experience a material expression: an image of stillness and surrender, held within layers of light.

Each piece is individually finished, with natural variations in the placement of materials giving every work its own character.

What is a Timed Edition?

A timed edition is available only during a fixed release window. Once the release period ends after the 7 days, the edition is permanently closed and that size will never be printed again. The final edition number is determined solely by how many collectors acquire the work during that time.

Shipping

Masters Edition Prints are securely packed and sent via UPS Express shipping in a custom crate. Please give 6-8 weeks for masters edition pieces as David personally makes each one to order with his small team in Finland.

 Returns

Each Limited Edition Masters Print is one-of-one. That means we are unable to accept returns or exchanges. We are also unable to make any changes or cancellations to orders after 24 hours.

If for any reason your new artwork arrives in anything other than perfect condition please let us know and we will do our best repair or replace the piece!
